Ellie started playing the violin, or rather the "fiddle", at the age of 8. Her artistic journey has led her through the worlds of circus, theatre, musical comedy, "trad" sessions, orchestras, choirs, jazz bands and opera, all of which have left their mark on her musical style and unique stage presence.
Her compositions evoke the sonorities of folk, jazz, pop-rock, and musical theatre.
Ellie is also a clown, actress, and ceilidh facilitator–traditional group dances of Scotland and Ireland.
Originally from New Hampshire in the United States, she has lived in Scotland and Ireland and currently resides in Brittany.
